Rolled and padded arms look generous in a photograph and cost you seat. A 90 inch sofa with 10 inch arms gives three people 70 inches to share, which is 23 inches each, and by the time anybody leans on an arm it is less than that.

What the third module carries

Instead of a wooden backrest, the third module has a steel one with a lidded box in it, a three hole socket, USB ports and a fixing knob. The knob is the part people miss: it clamps the section to the armrest and the backrest beside it so nothing works loose.

Is it red or is it coral?

The store calls it red. The photographs show a coral or salmon with a warm orange cast, well short of a true red. Under a warm bulb it reads more orange still. This page describes the photographs rather than the colour name.

How much seat does each person get?

Eighty-eight and a half inches divided three ways is 29.5 inches each, which is the same figure as the width of a single seat module. That is wide for a three seater and it comes from the arms being only 5 inches thick.

Is leathaire waterproof?

No such claim is published, so none is made. It is a coated fabric, which means a spill sits on the surface for a while rather than soaking straight in, and that is a matter of reaching it quickly rather than of the sofa being sealed.

Does the sofa need to sit near a socket?

Only if you want to use the built in one. It is an outlet in the backrest that runs from a lead into a wall socket. Without it the sofa works normally, it simply has no power at arm height.
