Why does it need 72 hours?
The foam is vacuum compressed for shipping and has to draw air back in before it reaches full height. Cold slows that down, so if the carton has sat in a winter van, bring it inside and give it longer than the stated three days before judging the shape.
Can I wash the cover?
Yes. The corduroy cover unzips from the body and carries a machine washable mark. Follow the care label that ships with your unit, wash cool and dry flat rather than hot, because heat is what shrinks a cover past the point where it fits again.
Does the pile flatten where people sit?
Corduroy pile compresses in the seats and along the arm tops with use. Most of that is crushing rather than fibre loss, and brushing along the ribs with a soft brush lifts it back. Wider ribs show pressure marks more plainly than fine ones.
