The numbers behind the shapes

Every seating piece is 25 in tall with the seat 16.5 in up. Corners are 29 in square, the armless seat 29 in by 25 in. Knowing those three numbers is all you need to sketch the layout on the deck before the boxes arrive.

The fourth piece has two jobs

The ottoman is 25 in square and 16.5 in high. Cushion on, it is a footrest at exactly seat height. Cushion off, the woven lid is a table. That is one fewer thing to find space for.

The same four pieces in a line make a three seat sofa with an arm at each end. Nothing is unbolted to get here. On a narrow deck this is usually the arrangement that leaves a path to the door.

Can I make an L shape with only these four pieces?

Yes. Put one corner at each end and the armless seat between them for a straight run, or push one corner round 90 degrees against the other to turn the line. The ottoman then goes wherever the legs need it.

Will the pieces stay put?

They sit on aluminium foot pads and hold by weight. Nothing is supplied to lock them together. Wicker sectional clips and straps are available separately if the deck is windy.

How thick are the cushions?

4 in of high resilience sponge, on a seat that is already 16.5 in from the ground. The covers unzip, which is the only practical way to keep a pale colour looking right.

Where should the cushions go for the winter?

Indoors, dry, and off the concrete. Storage guides recommend a cool ventilated spot and breathable bags rather than sealed plastic, which traps the damp that causes mould.
