A fixed daybed seats two people who have to agree: both in the shade or both in the sun, both sitting up or both lying flat. That works until one of them wants to read and the other wants to doze.

Each footrest is a free standing piece. Slide one out from under the canopy and it is a lounger in the sun, while the backrest section stays shaded. Push it back and the platform is continuous again.

Footrests flush against the platform, canopy up, pillows against the 27.5 in backrest. One continuous surface 60.5 in by 65 in, which is roughly the width of a double bed.

Or apart

Slide a footrest away and it becomes a lounger in its own right. The backrest section stays where it is under the canopy, so one person keeps the shade while the other takes the sun.

Do the footrests lock to the main bed?

No connectors are listed on this record. They push up flush and pull away freely, which is what makes the two layouts possible.

How wide is each footrest on its own?

The maker publishes the assembled size rather than each piece separately, so we do not quote individual widths.

Is the canopy over the whole bed?

It spans 49.5 in over the backrest end. The footrest end sits beyond it, which is what lets one person stay in the sun.

Where do the cushions go for winter?

Indoors and fully dry. The maker's own note asks for the cushions to be kept dry to prolong their service life.
