Three ratings, and the one that counts
57 pints a day is measured at 95F and 90% relative humidity. 50 pints is at 86F and 80%. Nineteen pints is the 2019 DOE test at 65F and 60%, which the US Department of Energy chose because it reflects a basement. Compare DOE to DOE between brands and the numbers start making sense. A big tank, and a short hose
At 1.5 gallons this tank is genuinely large, so manual emptying is realistic even in a fairly damp room, and the machine alarms and stops rather than overflowing. Note the hose length though: the supplied drain hose is 12 inches, which only reaches a drain directly beneath the machine. For a longer run you will want a length of standard hose.
Eight keys, and a child lock worth writing down
Dehumidify, air clean, sleep, timer, mode, fan speed, dry clothes and standby. The dry clothes key is the one a household uses most in March. The child lock is the only thing not printed on the panel: press the auto swing and air clean buttons together to turn it on and off.

Is the 12 inch drain hose long enough?
Only if the drain sits directly under the machine. The hose supplied is 12 inches, which is short. For a run across a basement floor to a sump or a floor drain, buy a longer length of hose to fit the outlet. The unit drains by gravity, so the far end must sit lower than the machine either way.
How do I turn the child lock on?
Press the auto swing and air clean buttons together. That is the only function not labelled on the panel, so it is worth noting somewhere. Everything else has its own key.
Does it need a special outlet?
No. It is specified at 115V, 60Hz drawing 2.9A and 240W, on a 5.9 ft cord, which is well within an ordinary grounded Canadian household outlet. Plug it into the wall rather than a light duty extension cord.
