Description
BOREA 10'6" Hard Paddle Board (Root Collection)
A 10'6" all-around hard paddle board from Taiga Board, finished in natural Paulownia wood veneer. It weighs 27 lbs, carries up to 230 lbs, and runs a 3-fin Truster setup for lake cruising or light surf.
BOREA sits in the middle of Taiga's lineup: longer than AKOYA or HANA for more glide, but not built purely for touring speed like KAZUZU. Taiga positions it as an all-around board that mixes sporty performance with a laid-back ride, and the Root Collection finish leaves the Paulownia wood veneer natural rather than painted. That extra length over AKOYA or HANA adds glide, meaning the board holds momentum for longer between paddle strokes, which shows up most on longer outings rather than a quick paddle around a dock. It still isn't as long as KAZUZU, so it stays easier to manoeuvre and to carry to the water than a dedicated touring board.

An all-around board for regular use
10'6" of length gives it more glide than Taiga's shorter boards, while staying manoeuvrable enough for everyday paddling rather than pure long-distance touring. At 31.5 inches wide with 182 litres of volume, it splits the difference between the wider, more stable AWEN and the narrower, quicker-turning ESKA.
A look at the rocker and rail
The side profile shows the board's rocker, the upward curve at the nose and tail that affects how it handles chop and turns.

Who is this perfect for?
Everyday paddlers
A middle-of-the-road length for lake cruising without giving up manoeuvrability.
Paddlers who want real wood grain
The Root Collection finish is a natural wood veneer, not a painted colour.
Paddlers moving up from a first board
If a shorter all-around board is starting to feel small on longer outings, BOREA's extra length adds glide without jumping all the way up to a 12-foot touring shape. It's a reasonable next board for someone who has outgrown a beginner-length rental and wants more distance out of each paddle stroke.
