What ceiling height do I need?

About ten feet. Guides advise keeping roughly twelve inches of clear air above the tip, and a topper adds to that. In a standard eight or nine foot room this tree will not fit.

How do I decorate the top?

Decorate each section as you build it, before the next one goes on. That is far safer than standing on a ladder beside a finished nine foot tree, and it gets the ornaments into the middle of the tree rather than only on the outside.
