Put a full round tree in the corner of a room and a quarter of it is jammed against the walls. Those branches get crushed flat, the ornaments on that side are invisible, and the tree still sticks further into the room than it needs to.

This one is built as 270 degrees, a three quarter circle with the back corner cut away. Nothing is crushed, nothing is wasted on a side no one looks at, and the tree sits further back into the angle than a round one of the same height could.

What 270 degrees actually means

The diagram on the right says it best: a full circle with one quarter greyed out. The tree is a three quarter cone, flat on two adjoining faces so it tucks into the angle where two walls meet. From anywhere in the room it reads as a whole tree, because the missing quarter is the part pressed against the plaster.

Eight feet on 3.7 feet of floor

Measured against two adults, the tree is 8 feet tall and 3.7 feet across, on a 24 inch stand. That width is modest for the height, and because the footprint is a quarter circle rather than a full one the floor it actually occupies is smaller again. Three sections and a screw already in

Does it look odd from the side?

Not from inside the room. The missing quarter is the part facing into the corner, so from any angle you would normally stand in, the tree reads as a full cone. Walk round behind it and you will see the flat back, which is the whole point.

How much floor does it save?

The tree is 3.7 feet across, and because the footprint is a three quarter circle rather than a full one, the floor it takes is smaller again. More importantly it can sit tight into the angle of the walls, where a round tree has to stand off to keep its branches from being crushed.

What ceiling height do I need?

Ten feet is comfortable for an eight foot tree, allowing about a foot above the tip for a topper plus the few inches the stand adds. Under a nine foot ceiling it will fit with a flat topper.

Can it stand away from a corner?

It can, but it will look like three quarters of a tree from one side. The shape is designed to be backed into an angle, and that is where it makes sense.
