How is it different from the 3 ft version?

A foot taller, 2.1 ft wide against 1.7 ft, 125 tips against 85, and 4.5 lb against 2.5 lb. The stand is metal rather than moulded plastic, which matters as the tree gets taller.

Do I need to add lights?

No. The fibre optic strands are installed on every branch and fed from the base, so the tree lights itself as soon as it is plugged in.

Will ornaments spoil the effect?

Some will. Anything hanging over a branch end covers the strand that lights it. A few small pieces near the trunk are fine; a full ornament collection will dim the display.

Is it safe to leave on overnight?

Health Canada advises switching all holiday lights off before you go to bed or leave the house, which applies here as much as to any mains powered decoration.
