Seven colours run through the branch ends on this one: red, blue, green, purple, yellow, white and warm white, all fed from a single source in the base. It is 3 ft tall, 1.7 ft across and 2.5 lb, with 85 dense PVC tips. The fibres are already installed, so only the stand needs putting together.
Three feet, one and a half wide
3 ft tall against a 1.7 ft spread, which puts it on a side table, a shop counter or the floor of a small entry. At 2.5 lb it is light enough to move mid season if the room gets rearranged.
The light is in the strands
The inset shows what a fibre optic tree looks like close up: fine strands with lit ends scattered through the needles. There are no bulbs on wires here. A source in the base feeds every strand, which is why the effect is even from top to bottom.
How it looks with the light off
Most of December the tree is unlit and being walked past. 85 full tips is what keeps it looking like a small fir rather than a bundle of wires in daylight. The needles are dense PVC, described by the manufacturer as fresh cut in appearance.
