Eighty four by sixty one and a half

That is the footprint for a 60 by 80 inch Queen, and the frame stands only 9.5 inches at the rail. The published mattress window is 10 to 14 inches thick, which is deliberate. A low frame plus a deep mattress is how you get a normal sleeping height.

Forty or forty four

The headboard mounts at two positions. With a 14 inch mattress the taller setting keeps the scalloped shape visible above the pillows; with a 10 inch one the lower setting keeps the proportion right. It is decided at assembly, not afterwards.

Twelve slats on ten legs

Six thick legs carry the perimeter and four solid rubber wood legs run down the centre under twelve laminated veneer lumber slats. The published capacity is 770 lb and the slats are what replace a box spring entirely.

Three and a half inch legs

The legs are short and square rather than tapered, which is what gives the bed its low profile look. It also means there is very little room underneath, so this is not the frame to buy if under-bed storage is the reason you are shopping. A vacuum head will pass along the rail, but a storage bin will not go under it.
