Do the cushions have to come in every time it rains?

Not for a shower. Every cover unzips and washes, which is what matters for spills and pollen. For a wet week, outdoor cushion guidance is consistent: foam holds damp for days once it is soaked through, so stand them on edge to drain or put them in the storage box.

How does the propane connect?

The manufacturer's setup panel shows four steps: attach the regulator to the tank, stand the tank inside the fire pit table body, add lava rock over the burner, then turn the knob and press the igniter. The tank is hidden inside the table rather than sitting beside it. No tank is listed as included, so plan on supplying your own.

Can the seating be arranged differently?

Yes, and that is the point of splitting it into four. Two corner sofas and two armless sofas can sit as one long L, as a straight run along a wall, or as two facing benches with the fire pit table between them. Nothing bolts together permanently.

How much patio does it need?

Set out as an L, the seating runs roughly 29.5 in deep on each arm with the fire pit table 42 in long in front of it. Layout guides suggest about 24 in between a sofa and the table in front of it and 18 to 24 in between seating and a fire feature, so allow a good 12 ft by 12 ft to lay it out comfortably.
