10 FT Cantilever Patio Umbrella with Solar LED Lights 360° Rotation-Navy

Deep navy fabric on a two tier vented top, hung 10 feet wide from a braced side arm so nothing stands in the middle of the seating. The canopy tilts through six levels and swings a full circle on a foot pedal. Solar LED beads run the ribs with a brighter light at the hub, good for roughly 6 to 8 hours.

The seat nobody wants

A pole through the middle of the group

Run a mast down through a table or a sofa group and somebody ends up sitting against it. Conversation goes around it, the serving dishes go around it, and moving the shade means moving everything.

All the hardware on one side

The post and base sit off to one edge and the braced arm carries the canopy over the top of the furniture. Every square foot of shade lands on open ground. The foot pedal turns the canopy when the sun moves, and six tilt levels drop it into low afternoon light.

Looking down onto the canopy

This angle shows the underside better than a straight photograph would. You can pick out the LED beads running along each rib, the brighter light at the hub, the lever at the arm joint and the crank lower down the post. The raised second tier at the crown is the vent.

Lit from the ribs and the hub

At night the beads pick out every rib and a brighter light at the centre fills in underneath. It runs on what the solar panel collected that day, roughly 6 to 8 hours after a full charge. Nothing is plugged in, which is the only way this works on a terrace with no outdoor socket.

Moving the shade, not the sofa

The pedal at the base of the post releases the rotation. Step on it, hold the post, swing the canopy to where the light has gone and let go. The base and its weights never move, which is the whole reason a cantilever is worth the extra ballast it demands.

What is not in the box

The manufacturer's own caption on this photograph says it plainly: the weighted base is not included. A 40 inch cross frame does come with the umbrella, and the weights that sit on it are a separate purchase. This product's dimension drawing recommends 90 lb.

What you get

Six tilt levels

The arm steps through six positions, so you can drop the canopy low against late sun or raise it for headroom.

Foot pedal rotation

Step on the pedal at the base, hold the post and turn. The canopy goes right around without the base shifting.

Solar lighting with a centre light

LED beads follow the ribs and a brighter light sits at the hub. About 6 to 8 hours after a full day's charge.

Two tier vented canopy

The top is built in two layers with a gap between them, so air climbs out of the canopy rather than pushing it.

Triangle braced arm

A diagonal brace ties the arm back to the post. It is the joint that stops a long overhang nodding in the wind.

Cross base in the box

A 40 inch square cross frame ships with it. The weighted base that sits on top of it is bought separately.

One click switch

The lights are on a single switch rather than a sensor, so they come on when you sit down, not at dusk.

Measured off the drawing

Canopy 10 ft across, 8.4 ft to the crown, 6.4 ft under the rim, cross base 40 in square.

How it compares

What changes between the three ways of shading a patio, judged on the things you notice after a month rather than on paper. General category guidance, not lab testing.

Who is this perfect for?

Corner sofa sets

A sectional has no hole to take a pole. The arm reaches over the whole group and the post parks behind it.

West facing yards

Six tilt levels and a full circle of rotation are what you want when the worst sun of the day arrives at six.

Late dinners outdoors

Solar beads on the ribs and a centre light at the hub give you 6 to 8 hours after a good day of charging.

What we stand behind

  • Clearance, canopy width and base size were read off this product's own dimension drawing.
  • Rib count and LED count are withheld because the source record contradicts itself on both.
  • Ships from a Canadian warehouse, free shipping over $150.
  • 14 day returns, unused and in the original packaging.

Frequently asked questions

What area does it shade, and what is the headroom?

The canopy is 10 feet across, which covers a six seat table or a full corner sofa with a margin past the edge. Underneath, the rim is 6.4 feet from the ground and the crown 8.4 feet. That is comfortable to stand under near the middle and about head height at the very edge, so keep the rim away from walkways.

Does the canopy tilt as well as turn?

Yes, and they are separate controls. Six tilt levels lean the canopy over, and the foot pedal at the base turns the whole thing around the post. Use tilt against low sun and rotation to move the shade to a different part of the patio.

Is the weighted base included?

No. The cross frame is, the weights are not. This product's own drawing recommends a 90 lb weighted base, sold separately, and that figure is worth respecting on a cantilever because the canopy hangs entirely to one side of the post.

How should it be stored over winter?

Crank it closed, let the canopy dry right through, wipe the post down and keep it somewhere dry. Canadian care guides agree on the two things that finish a patio umbrella: snow sitting on an open canopy, and fabric folded away while it is still damp.
