These arrive lit, flocked and weighted. Each tree is planted in its own cement filled bucket with its own control box and timer, and the buckets are under seven inches across, so one set can cover a hall, a landing and a dining room without being in the way.

Three, four and five feet

Buckets of 7 inches across and 7.5 high for the smallest, 6.5 across and 9.5 high for the other two, each on a 10 inch footprint. The staggered heights are what turn three trees into an arrangement rather than a repetition.

120, 140 and 163 flocked tips

Four hundred and twenty-three tips across the set, each one carrying a heavy white flocking rather than a light dusting. On a pencil profile the flocking does a lot of work, because there is no depth to hide behind and a white surface reads full from a distance.

Together or apart

Each tree has its own control box, which is what makes splitting the set across rooms practical rather than theoretical. Grouped, the three heights give a layered look; apart, one purchase covers three separate spaces.

Buckets filled with cement

Cement is set into each bucket, which is how a slim tree stays upright without a wide stand. The PVC is described by the maker as flame-retardant, odourless and long-lasting, and the bucket is the finished base, so nothing needs covering.

Slim lit trees in weighted buckets suit circulation spaces, where a full tree is an obstacle and a wide stand is a trip hazard. The timer means none of them needs switching on by hand.

Will the flocking come off?

Some will, mostly while you are spreading the branches the first time. Lay a sheet down and vacuum once afterwards. It drops off sharply after the first season.

How does the timer work?

Six hours on and eighteen hours off, repeating daily from when you set it, on each tree independently.

Do the trees plug into each other?

No. Each has its own control box and its own supply, which is why they can stand in three different rooms. Grouped together they will want a power bar.

Are there lighting modes?

None is published for this set beyond the timer, so we do not claim any. The lights are warm white and the timer is the stated control.

How stable is a slim tree in a bucket?

The buckets are cement filled, so the weight sits at the bottom rather than out to the sides. Steady for their size, but these are narrow trees and a firm knock will still shift them.

Can I replace a bulb?

The strings are factory-wired into the branches and no spare bulb or fuse specification is published, so we cannot promise individual bulb replacement. LED strings of this type are normally wired so one failed bulb does not darken the rest.
