A green tree out of the box is a shape, not a decoration. Most people end up buying cones, sprays and picks to give it texture, then storing them in a box that never comes back complete the following year.

Pine cones are fitted through the branches at the factory here, alongside two shades of foliage. With the lights fitted as well, the tree looks finished with nothing more than baubles, and nothing falls off while you decorate around it.

Eight feet, and genuinely wide

Eight feet tall with a 5.1 foot spread, which is a wide tree for the height. Allow a clear circle of six feet. Sizing guides pair an eight foot tree with a ten foot ceiling, or nine feet with a flat topper, so the height needs checking as carefully as the floor.

Two greens and the cones

Worth studying unlit. The foliage mixes light green PE tips with traditional darker PVC ones, so the surface has variation rather than a single flat tone. The pine cones are brown and scattered through the branches rather than clustered at the front, which is what stops them looking stuck on.

Lights off, lights on

The same tree both ways. The manufacturer states the LEDs are UL certified and the tree draws 8.4 watts at 120 V input and 29 V output, which is a small figure for a tree this size. Their own guidance is to allow 45 to 60 minutes to shape it to its fullest form.

The maker's own comparison, and on an eight foot tree it is the step that decides everything. Left, out of the box. Right, the same tree with every branch pulled away from the pole and the tips bent upward. Work bottom section upward rather than all at once.

Is this tree flocked?

No, and the store title is wrong on that point. The manufacturer's own specification reads Color: Green and simple green colour with pine cones, and every photograph shows a plain green tree with brown cones and no white flocking anywhere. If you want a snowy tree, this is not it.

How many lights and pine cones does it have?

Neither figure is published for this size. The 7.5 ft tree in the same family states 540 LEDs and 71 cones, but scaling that to eight feet would be a guess, so we leave both out. Ask us to check with the supplier if the counts matter to you.

What ceiling height do I need?

Ten feet is comfortable for an eight foot tree. Sizing guides suggest about a foot above the tip for a topper, and the stand lifts the tree slightly. Under a nine foot ceiling it fits with a flat topper; under eight feet it will not stand.

How long does it take to shape?

The manufacturer suggests 45 to 60 minutes to bring the tree to its fullest form, and their own before and after photograph shows what that half hour or so buys you. Work from the bottom section upward rather than all at once.
