Most of the flocking that ends up on the floor comes off during setup: dragging the tree into place, shaking the branches out, and then winding a light string round and round it, catching every branch on the way.

The 650 lights are already fitted, so the stage that loosens the most flocking never happens. Build the tree where it is going to stand, open the hinged branches section by section, and the snow stays where the factory put it.

Eight by four point nine, unlit

Worth seeing before the glow hides the structure. Green PVC underneath, flocking laid on heavily along the top of every branch and thinning where they turn under, the way snow actually settles. Four point nine feet across needs a clear circle of about five and a half, and eight feet wants a ten foot ceiling.

Where 650 bulbs actually sit

The inset shows the bulbs down among the needles rather than on the outside. Six hundred and fifty is a high count for this height, and warm white against white flocking reflects rather than glares, so the whole tree carries the light instead of showing as bright points. The manufacturer states the lights are UL listed.

What to hang on a white tree

Gold, cream and clear glass are the safe choices, as here. Strong reds read very loud against heavy flocking and dark ornaments vanish into the shadow between branches. With 1502 tips there is no shortage of places to hang from, and the branches hold a piece out where it shows.

How much flocking comes off?

Some, and mostly during setup. Flocked tree care guidance is consistent: assemble the tree where it will stand, avoid shaking or dragging it, keep ornaments on the lighter side, and dust it with a soft duster from the top down rather than vacuuming.

Is 650 lights a lot?

Yes for this height. Many eight foot pre-lit trees carry between 400 and 500. The practical difference is that the glow carries into the middle of the tree rather than stopping at the outer branches, which matters more on a flocked tree where the white reflects light around.

How does it compare with the 7 ft version?

How should I store it?
