Why are the branches bent downward?

By design. The manufacturer says each branch elegantly bows as if weighed down by fresh snow, which is what a real snow covered conifer does. It is not a sign of weak branches.

How is it different from the other sizes?

The series gives 279, 519 and 743 branch tips with 150, 250 and 320 lights for the 4.5, 6 and 7 ft sizes. This listing is the 6 ft.

Will the flocking shed?

A little at first setup. Open it out over a sheet, handle the inner branches, and keep water and sprays off the foliage. Store it cool, dry and away from light.

Is 250 lights enough at six feet?

On a flocked tree, yes. White flocking reflects light rather than absorbing it, so the same bulb count goes further than it would on dark green foliage.
