Put a colour changing string on a green tree and you see bulbs, not colour. The needles absorb most of the light, so the tree itself stays green while a few hundred points blink at you.

What multicolour does on white

This is the shot that explains the tree. The colour is not sitting on the bulbs, it is spread across the branches, which only happens when the foliage is pale. Green trees cannot do this at all.

Is the tree white or green?

White. Every photograph shows white foliage and the manufacturer's graphics call out 1000 white branch tips. The store title omits the colour, which is why ours states it.

What are the eleven modes?

Will ornaments show up against white?

Strongly. That is the advantage of a white tree: dark and coloured ornaments read clearly against it, where on green they can disappear.
