What is a light ball, exactly?

A faceted globe with a bulb inside, hung in the branches like an ornament. There are 50 on this tree in warm white. The manufacturer notes the cut shells refract light, so they still look like decorations when the tree is off.

How is it different from the other mannequin tree?
