What ceiling height does it need?

About eight and a half feet or more. Guides advise around twelve inches of clear air above the tip, and a topper adds to that. Measure to the ceiling rather than to a light fitting.

Is a thousand lights too bright?

Not if you use the controller. Full and half brightness are two of the seven modes, so the same tree can be a display or a quiet evening light.

How much floor does it need?

3.9 ft across at the widest branches on a 22 inch stand. Mark a circle of four feet before the box arrives.

Does the memory work after switching off at the wall?

The manufacturer describes a memory function that automatically restores the previous lighting mode. No detail is published about how long it holds, so we will not claim more than that.
