What ceiling height do I need?

Allow more than 13 feet. Tree guides advise at least 12 inches between the tip and the ceiling before you add a topper, and this one is a full 12 feet before the stand lifts it. In a room with a standard 8 or 9 foot ceiling it will not stand up at all.

Can it really go outside?

The manufacturer describes it as weatherproof and supplies 4 anchoring plates and 8 expansion screws for the base, and their own photography shows it on a covered deck. Keep it under cover, anchor the base, and follow Health Canada's rule that indoor rated light strings and cords are used only indoors. No wind speed rating or IP rating is published, so we will not quote one.

How far does the plug reach?

The adapter cord is given as 8.1 feet on the manufacturer's dimension drawing. That is the distance from the base of the tree to the plug, so an extension cord rated for the load is likely on a porch or in the middle of a room.

What if one section of lights fails?

Test each section as you stack it rather than after the tree is fully built. On some pre-lit trees one failed bulb can take out a whole run, and the record lists no spare bulb kit for this model. Checking on the way up means a fault is at eye level, not ten feet in the air.
