6 FT Fibre Optic Christmas Tree with Lit Snowflakes and Star Topper

A traditional six foot tree spreads four feet or more across the floor, needs a light string that reaches all the way round, and comes with boxes of ornaments to store for the other eleven months.

This one is 2.7 ft across at six feet tall, so it takes half the floor a full tree does. The lights, the snowflakes and the star are all wired in, and it separates into two pieces for storage. One plug and it is done.

Six feet tall, under three feet wide

6 ft of height on a 2.7 ft spread. That is a narrow profile for a full height tree, close to what the trade calls a slim, which is exactly why it suits a flat or a room where the floor is already spoken for. A standard 8 ft ceiling leaves room for the star.

The day and night pair

The manufacturer shows both states side by side, which is the fair way to sell a fibre optic tree. By day it is green with white snowflakes. By night the strands carry red, blue, white, green, yellow, purple and pink out to the tips, changing on their own.

In a room, after dark

Against a fireplace it holds its own without a single hung ornament. The colour reaches the outside of the tree because the light travels to the end of each strand rather than sitting on the branch.

Two pieces, one outlet

It comes as one tree and one stand, which is as little assembly as a six foot tree offers. The manufacturer describes the lights as UL listed. Health Canada advises checking the unit you receive for a CSA, cUL or cETL mark and switching holiday lights off overnight.

How many branch tips does it have?

The record does not publish a tip count for the six foot size, so we will not invent one. What is published is the height, 6 ft, and the spread, 2.7 ft, both marked on the manufacturer's own dimension image.

Do I need to buy a topper?

No. A star is fitted at the crown and it lights along with the tree.

Will ornaments work on it?

Only sparingly. Every ornament covers fibre ends, which is where the light comes out. Most fibre optic trees are used exactly as they arrive.

How does it store?

In two pieces: the tree and its stand. There is no light string to coil and no ornament boxes to find room for, which is a real saving on a six foot tree.
