What is the difference between the ASHRAE and SACC ratings?

They are two tests of the same machine. ASHRAE 8,000 BTU is measured under fixed laboratory conditions. SACC 5,000 BTU is the seasonally adjusted figure, and Danby notes it is generally lower because it reflects real temperature and humidity across a cooling season. Size your room from SACC.

How big is the water tank and when does it fill?

700 ml. How fast it fills depends entirely on the humidity in the room, and in dry air it may barely collect anything. The supplied 25.5 inch drain hose fits the drainage hole so the water runs out continuously instead.

Will it fit a casement window?

No. The kit handles hung and sliding windows up to 47 inches. Crank out casement windows need a panel made to the exact opening, because a generic sliding kit will not seal that frame.

Can I run it in a garage or a room with no window?

It still needs the hose to reach outside. A vented garage door panel or a wall vent can work, but the exhaust cannot simply be dumped back into the same space, because that adds heat rather than removing it.
