What each setting is really for

Why is the SACC rating lower than the BTU on the front?

They are two different tests of the same machine. ASHRAE measures under fixed laboratory conditions; SACC is the newer seasonally adjusted method that reflects real cooling season temperature and humidity. Danby notes SACC is generally the lower figure. Size your room from the 7,000 BTU number.

How often will it need draining?

It has a self-evaporating system, so in most conditions the water leaves as vapour through the exhaust hose. When the air is humid enough to beat that, the 650 ml tank catches the rest and the 25.5 inch hose drains it continuously if you fit it.

What windows does the kit fit?

Double hung, single hung and sliding sash windows, up to 47 inches. Crank out casement windows need a panel made to the opening, because a generic sliding kit will not seal against that frame.

Does it need a special outlet?

No. It runs on 115V at 60Hz from a normal Canadian wall socket, on a 6 ft cord. Plug it straight into the wall rather than a light duty extension lead.
