Most beds with drawers have them fixed on one side at the factory. Push the bed into a corner, which is what small rooms force you to do, and half the storage becomes unreachable.

These two drawers roll on wheels and are made to be fitted on whichever side of the frame is open. If the bed goes against a wall, both drawers go on the free side, and the built-in stoppers keep them from running too far under the deck.

The drawer needs room to come out

The frame is 82.5 inches long and 56.5 inches wide. The part people forget is the drawer: at 35.5 inches deep it needs almost three feet of clear floor beside the bed to open fully. Measure from the side of the bed to whatever is opposite before you decide which side the drawers go on. Wheels, and something to stop them

Each drawer rolls on wheels and has a built-in stopper at the back. The stopper is the detail that matters over time: without one, a loaded drawer pushed in hard disappears under the bed and has to be fished back out. These stop at the rail.

Eight slats, and what that means

Eight plywood slats span the deck on solid wood legs. Eight across a 77.5 inch bed is a wider spacing than the twelve or fourteen slat decks on the same shelf, so the manufacturer's 6 inch mattress limit is not arbitrary. A thin, firm mattress bridges the gaps better than a deep soft one.

It reads as a bedroom set

The curved ends and the panelled boards give it the look of an older bedroom suite rather than a flat modern platform. With the drawers closed there is nothing to show that the storage is there at all.
