Description
Wooden Planter Trough, 36 Inches
Three feet long, seven inches wide and only four pounds empty. This is the shallow trough for ledges and sills that will not take weight.
Natural fir boards 12 mm thick, finished in a warm reddish brown, with reinforced bars under the floor and a plinth at each end. The inner length runs 32.5 inches, and two holes are drilled through the bottom board.
Narrow on purpose
Seven inches across is the point. It fits a windowsill, a deck rail cap or a shelf where a wider box would overhang the edge.
Works as a pot tray
You do not have to fill it with soil. Stand a run of small pots in it and the trough becomes a tidy shelf for a windowsill collection.
Two holes in the floor
Water runs out through the bottom rather than sitting in a shallow box. In a trough only six inches deep that matters more than usual.
