Rustic Wooden Wishing Well Planter
Four feet of scorched fir with a pitched roof, a hexagonal bed at the foot and a bucket swinging from a rope you can shorten.
The whole structure is natural fir treated by carbonization, which darkens the timber through the surface. Six reinforced rods brace the base, the roof is laid in five tiers of shingle, and the bucket hangs on an adjustable sisal rope.
Where the height goes
Forty nine inches overall, with a 23 inch roof span above a 21 inch hexagonal bed. The bed is 10.5 inches deep and the bucket hangs on a 40 inch rope.
Open at the bottom
The hexagonal bed has no floor, so roots carry on into the ground and rain drains away. A hole in the bucket does the same job up top.
The details
The pitched roof shades whatever hangs below it, the eaves overhang the bed, and a turned handle sits on the side the way it would on a real well.
