The two slowest parts of putting up a tree are hooking several hundred loose branches onto a pole one at a time, and then finding out that half a light string bought last year no longer works.

The branches here are hinged: three sections stack, each one drops open and the branches swing into position on their own. The 340 LEDs are already wired in, so there is no string to untangle, test or wind on.

The tree stands 7 ft with a 3.5 ft spread on a 20 inch stand, drawn against a 6 ft figure for scale. Allow for the stand and a topper on top of the seven feet, which puts a comfortable ceiling at eight feet or more. The UL certified adapter carries an 8.2 ft cord, and two pairs of gloves come in the box for shaping the branches.

Three sections, hinged branches

Hinged means the branches are permanently attached and swing down into place as each section opens, rather than being hooked on individually. Three sections stack onto a foldable crossed metal base whose screw is already fitted, so nothing has to be lined up by feel underneath a tree. The same hinges fold the branches back up for storage.

900 tips, flocked in blue

Nine hundred tips is a full count for a 7 ft tree, and the flocking sits on top of the royal blue needles as a paler frost. Flocked finishes shed a little in the first season, particularly during shaping, so work over a sheet the first time and expect to vacuum once afterwards.

Steady on, flashing and slow fade are the three modes. Four brightness steps run at 25, 50, 75 and 100 percent, which matters on a blue string that can be glaring at full power in a small room. The timer runs six hours on and eighteen hours off, so the tree comes on at the same time each evening without a smart plug. Both a remote and a controller on the tree itself are included.

Is the tree blue, or just the lights?

Both. The needles are royal blue, the 900 tips carry a lighter blue flocking over them, and the 340 LEDs are blue as well. Unlit in daylight it still reads as a blue tree.

What ceiling height does it need?

Seven feet of tree plus the stand and whatever goes on top. An eight foot ceiling works with a small topper; nine feet is comfortable. Measure before ordering, because height is the most common reason a tree goes back.

What do the three modes do?

Steady on holds the lights constant, flashing blinks them, and slow fade brings them up and down gradually. They are selected on the remote or on the controller attached to the tree.

How does the timer work?

It runs on a six hour on, eighteen hour off cycle. Set it when you want the lights to come on and it repeats at the same time the following day until you unplug it.

Will the flocking come off?

Some will, mostly while you are spreading the branches for the first time. Lay a sheet down for the first setup and vacuum once afterwards. Loss drops off sharply after the first season.

Can I replace a bulb if one fails?

The string is factory-wired into the branches and the manufacturer does not publish a spare bulb or fuse specification, so we cannot promise individual bulb replacement. LED strings of this type are normally wired so one failed bulb does not darken the rest.

Does it come with a storage bag?

No bag is listed in the record, so none is claimed. The hinged branches fold up against the trunk, which is what makes the original carton workable for storage.
