Compared to long-stretch bandages, its cotton and textile-elastic weave produces high working pressure during movement but low resting pressure at rest, which many wearers find more comfortable over extended wear, and it can be washed and reused rather than discarded after one use.

The short-stretch weave pushes back firmly against calf muscle movement during activity, but relaxes at rest, a compression profile clinicians commonly select for long daytime wear.
