Are these chairs low?

A little, deliberately. The seat sits 15.5 in from the ground against the 16 in to 18 in most dining chairs use, on a 23.5 in deep frame. That is what makes them feel like lounge chairs that happen to pull up to a table.

Will the chairs go under the table?

Yes. The armrests sit 25 in from the ground and the tabletop is 29 in high, so there is clearance for the arms when the chairs are pushed in.

What upkeep does the wood need?
