Six modes, five with sound

The list is printed in full. Mode one is a combination, modes two to five pair light sequences with creaking doors, ghost laughter, wolf howling and ghost speech, and mode six is steady on with no sound. The infrared sensor is quoted at a 16.4 ft effective distance.

Black foliage, orange and purple light

The two circles show the combination that makes it work: all black needles with orange and purple bulbs among them. Colour on black reads far more strongly than the same bulbs on green, which is why the palette is chosen this way.

Seven feet, nearly four across

7 ft of height against a 3.8 ft spread on a 20 inch stand. That is a full profile, so allow a floor circle of four feet. The figure beside it in the drawing is given as 5.3 ft for scale.

Three sections, screw fitted

Three hinged parts with the base screw already in place, so nothing has to be lined up during assembly. Two pairs of gloves come with it, and a black tree shows dust and marks more than a green one, so handling it by the inner branches is worth doing.

Can the sounds be turned off?

Mode six is steady on, which the manufacturer lists without a sound effect, so there is a silent setting. No separate volume control is described in the record, so we will not promise one.

How does the sensor work?

It is an infrared sensor quoted at a 16.4 ft effective distance, so the sequences trigger when somebody comes within roughly five metres of the tree.

What are the six modes?

Is it only for Halloween?

The lighting is orange and purple and the sounds are Halloween specific, so yes in practice. The black foliage itself would take a different ornament scheme, but the fitted lighting is what it is.
