Is the blue painted on or part of the material?

The colour is in the PVC itself, with a separate frosted white finish applied to the tips. There is nothing to flake off the way flocking sheds.

What ceiling height does it need?

Balsam Hill's guide asks for at least 12 inches of clearance above the tip, so a nine foot room once the base lifts it and a topper is added.

How is it different from the other sizes?
