Two leaves, 1426 tips

The two samples show the difference. The PVC leaf is the flat, dense filler. The PE leaf is moulded, with a gradient of colour running from the base of the needle to the tip. Together they give the foliage more than one shade, which is what a real conifer has.

The daytime and nighttime pair shows why the bulb shells matter. Unlit, the shaped plastic shells read as small ornaments among the needles rather than as bare wire and diodes. Lit, they soften the point of light.

Why does it have so many tips?

It is a full profile tree with a 3.6 ft spread at only five feet tall, so there is a lot of frame to fill. Canadian Tire's guide puts it plainly: a higher tip count makes the tree look fuller, and 1426 at this height is well above average.

What is the gradient effect on the PE leaves?

The PE needles are moulded with colour that shifts along the length of the needle rather than being one flat green. Mixed in with the plain PVC foliage it gives the tree more than one tone.

Is 200 lights enough?

It is a modest count for a tree this dense, so the effect is a gentle glow rather than a bright display. If you want more light, add a string of your own with a CSA, cUL or cETL mark on it.

How is it different from the 6 ft and 7 ft sizes?
