Description
32 Pint (15 L) Dehumidifier, 2500 Sq Ft, CSA Certified, 36 dB Sleep Mode, 3 Colour Humidity Light, White
Carries a CSA certification mark as well as DOE, which is worth checking on any appliance sold in Canada. It removes 15 L (32 pints) of water a day at 95F and 90% RH, moves up to 223 CFM, and drops to 36 dB in sleep mode. A light on the front turns blue, green or red as the room crosses 45% and 65% humidity.
Nobody knows what the humidity in their house is
What usually goes wrong
A room either feels clammy or it does not, and by the time it feels clammy it has been sitting above 65% for a while. Most people never look at a number, so the machine gets switched on late and switched off too early.
How this one answers it
A band of light on the front is blue under 45%, green between 45% and 65%, and red above 65%. You read it from across the room. The panel shows the exact figure when you want it, and auto mode holds whatever target you set between 30% and 80%.
At 10 by 8.5 by 17.5 inches and 22 lbs, this is a machine you can carry between the laundry room and a bedroom without planning it.

Reading the room without picking up your phone
Blue means the air is dry, green is the comfortable band, red is where condensation and damp problems start. Health Canada advises keeping a home between 30% and 50% relative humidity and running a dehumidifier in damp areas or when moisture condenses on window panes. A glance at the colour tells you whether it is worth switching on today.
What 223 CFM is doing for you
Pint capacity gets the attention, but air volume decides how much of the room gets treated. At 223 CFM this small cabinet keeps a large space circulating, which is why the manufacturer rates it to 2,500 sq ft. Set a target anywhere from 30% to 80% and the compressor works until the reading gets there.

Three modes for three different rooms
Continuous drying runs flat out and is the one for a laundry rack or a cloakroom after a wet week. Auto holds your target and idles in between, which suits a living room or bathroom. Sleep drops to 36 dB for a bedroom. Three fan speeds sit under all of them, along with a 24 hour timer.
What you get
A CSA mark, not just an American one
The manufacturer lists both CSA and DOE certification for this model. CSA is the mark Canadian electrical inspectors recognise.
Two ways to get rid of the water
Empty it by hand, or fit the supplied 3.3 ft hose and let it drain continuously by gravity to a drain below the machine.
Auto defrost
Frost forms on the coil of any compressor unit in a cool room. Auto defrost clears it rather than letting it build up and block the airflow.
Memory restart
After a power interruption it comes back on the settings you left it with instead of waiting for someone to press a button.
Child lock
The LOCK key freezes the panel so a curious hand cannot change the target or switch it off.
Filter you rinse under a tap
The mesh pulls out of the back, rinses and goes back in. Nothing to reorder and nothing to throw away.
Built-in handle and four wheels
22 lbs on four 360 degree casters with a moulded handle, so moving it between floors is a one person job.

Frequently asked questions
Is 32 pints a day a big machine or a small one?
It is a mid sized home unit. That 32 pint figure is measured at 95F and 90% relative humidity, which is a hot, saturated test. The US Department of Energy moved its own test to a cooler 65F and 60% in 2019 because that is closer to a real basement, and every machine returns a much smaller number under it. The manufacturer does not publish a DOE figure for this model, so compare it against other units on the same 95F and 90% basis.
What should I set the humidity to?
Health Canada advises keeping a home between 30% and 50% relative humidity, and running a dehumidifier in damp areas such as basements or when moisture condenses on cold surfaces like window panes. Around 45% to 50% is a sensible target. The colour light on the front turns green in that band.
Will it work in a cold basement?
It is a compressor machine, so it works best in a room that stays above about 10C. Auto defrost handles the frost that forms at the cool end of that range. For a garage or crawl space that drops close to freezing, a desiccant dehumidifier is the right type instead.
Does it need a special outlet?
No. It is specified at 115V, 60Hz on a 4.9 ft cord, so an ordinary grounded Canadian household outlet is correct. Plug it into the wall rather than a light duty extension cord.
