It shows the incoming temperature and humidity and the outgoing temperature and humidity, so you can see the machine actually working rather than guess. A purge key clears the pump line. The timer runs 0 to 24 hours. Two indicators matter on a job: water full, and defrosting. Memory restart brings it back after a power cut and auto turn on and off runs it to your target.

Getting 82 lbs where it needs to be

The handle collapses flat when it is working and pulls out when it is moving, so one person can tow it across a floor like a suitcase. Two moulded carry handles take over for stairs and truck beds, where it is a two person lift. The wheels are set wide enough that it does not tip when you pull it over a threshold.

What is the AHAM figure and why does it matter?

AHAM is the appliance industry association whose older test condition, 80F and 60% relative humidity, was the standard rating for dehumidifiers for years. This machine is rated 90 pints a day under it. The 180 pint headline is measured at 95F and 80%, which is much hotter and wetter. In 2019 the US Department of Energy moved to a cooler 65F and 60% test again, which produces smaller numbers still. Always check which condition a figure belongs to before comparing two machines.

How far can the pump send the water?

Up to 13 ft vertically, through a drain hose that is 24.6 ft long. That is enough to get from a basement floor up to a ground floor sink, or to run out through a window and across a yard. Use the purge key to clear the line before you move or store the machine.

Can I set it below 30%?

Yes, the range runs from 10% to 90%. That low end is for drying a structure out, not for living in. Health Canada advises keeping an occupied home between 30% and 50% relative humidity, so bring the setting back up once the building is dry.
