The display shows the humidity it is reading right now. SETTING picks a target anywhere from 30% to 80%. MODE switches between auto, which stops at your target, and continuous, which just runs. TIMER sets a 24 hour on or off. The two long press functions are worth remembering: three seconds on TIMER turns the pump on, three seconds on MODE turns on the child lock.

The details that matter on a job site

The top well swallows the cord and the hose, so nothing trails when you pick it up. The handles are recessed into the shell rather than bolted on, and the push and pull handle folds flat. Two wheels do the rolling. The mesh filter across the intake comes out for rinsing, which on a dusty site is a weekly job rather than a seasonal one.

Do I still need a floor drain?

No. That is what the built-in pump is for. It raises water up to 16.5 ft above the machine and pushes it along the 16.5 ft hose, so it can reach a laundry tub, a standpipe, a toilet or a window well. Long press the timer button for about three seconds to turn pump drainage on. If you do happen to have a drain below the unit, the same hose works by gravity with the pump off.

Is this a 140 pint machine or a 50 pint machine?

Both, at different test conditions. 140 pints a day is measured at 95F and 90% relative humidity. 50 pints is the 2019 DOE test, which the US Department of Energy moved to a cooler 65F and 60% because that is closer to a real basement.
