10 FT Cantilever Patio Umbrella with 360° Rotation for Garden-Beige

The post stands to one side and the canopy hangs over from a reinforced triangular top, so nothing stands in the middle of the seating. It measures 10 feet at the widest and 9.5 feet across, with 6.5 feet of clearance at the rim. Loosen the turning knob and the whole canopy swings around. A 40 inch cross frame is in the box.

The pole through the middle of the table

A centre mast takes the best part of the table

Push a pole through the middle of a garden table and the middle is gone. The serving dishes go around it, one guest sits against it, and the shade can only be where the table happens to be.

Hang it in from the side

Here the post stands on the paving beside the furniture and the reinforced triangular top carries the canopy over it. The table stays entirely clear. Loosen the turning knob on the upper pole and the canopy swings round to follow the sun without anybody moving a chair.

Simple frame, no crank

Post, arm, canopy, cross frame. There is no crank housing on the pole because this one lifts on a trigger handle instead. The top down view shows the canopy panels and the vents at the crown, and the folded view on the right is how it packs down against the post.

Sized against a dining set

Over a poolside dining set the canopy reaches past the chairs on every side, which is what a 10 foot cover is for. Guides pair that width with a table of roughly 60 inches and about six seats. Clearance is 6.5 feet at the rim and 7.9 feet at the crown, so the middle is easy to walk under.

The knob you loosen to turn it

The rotation here is a knob rather than a foot pedal. Loosen it, turn the upper pole until the canopy is where you want the shade, then tighten it again. The inset shows exactly which part your hand goes on, which is worth knowing before it arrives flat packed.

The triangle at the top

The green shape marks the reinforced triangular section tying the arm back to the post. A long overhang held as a triangle is rigid; the same overhang held as an L works itself loose. The inset shows the metal rib system spreading out from the hub.

What you get

Trigger handle lift

Squeeze the trigger and raise the canopy by hand. No crank gearing, which is one less thing to strip.

Turn the upper pole

Loosen the knob, turn the upper pole and the canopy swings to where the sun has gone. Then tighten it again.

Dual vented top

Two vents let air climb out of the canopy instead of pushing up against all of it on a gusty afternoon.

Reinforced triangular top

The arm is braced back to the post as a triangle, which is what stops a long overhang nodding in the wind.

Two section twist in pole

The pole joins with a twist rather than bolts, so it goes up without tools and stores at half the length.

PA coated polyester

The manufacturer describes the coated canopy as sun protective, water resistant and wear resistant.

Hook and loop strap

A strap fastens the closed canopy neatly to the post so it is not flapping against it all week.

Cross base included

A 40 inch square cross frame ships with it, ready for the weighted base you add separately.

Who is this perfect for?

Solid top garden tables

No hole needed anywhere. The post stands on the paving beside the table and the canopy reaches over the top.

Smaller budgets

This is the simple end of the cantilever shape: manual lift, no lighting, and the base bought when you are ready.

Tight winter storage

The pole twists apart into two sections and the strap holds the folded canopy, so it packs down small for the season.

What we stand behind

  • Canopy width, heights and the cross base size were read off this product's own dimension drawing.
  • The record gives two different base weight recommendations. Both are stated in the FAQ rather than one published as fact.
  • Ships from a Canadian warehouse, free shipping over $150.
  • 14 day returns, unused and in the original packaging.

Frequently asked questions

How wide is the shade and how much headroom is under it?

Ten feet at the widest point and 9.5 feet across, which covers a table of roughly 60 inches with about six chairs, or a sofa group. The rim sits 6.5 feet above the ground and the crown 7.9 feet, so the middle is comfortable to walk under and the outer edge is around head height for a tall adult.

What base does it need?

The 40 inch cross frame is included; the weights are not. The record gives two different numbers for what to add: the description text asks for 140 lb (64 kg) and this product's own dimension drawing asks for 220 lb. The manufacturer's paperwork disagrees with itself, and the higher figure is the safe one to work to, because the whole canopy hangs off one side of the post.

How does it open without a crank?

On a trigger handle. You squeeze the trigger to release the runner and lift the canopy by hand, then let the trigger lock it. Fewer moving parts than a crank, and nothing geared to strip, at the cost of a little more effort on a canopy this size.

What is the winter routine?

Close it, fasten the hook and loop strap round the canopy, twist the pole apart at the joint and let the fabric dry right through before it goes away. The two section pole is the useful part, because half the length fits in places the whole thing will not.
