Four feet, two across

Four feet tall including the pot, which is 7.5 inches square and 10 inches high, on a two foot spread. That is compact enough for a hall table end or the turn of a staircase, and it stands without a separate base to hide.

190 tips, 24 berries, 24 cones

All three counts are published and all three are already on the tree. Two leaf types do the work: fine pine needles for texture and frosted PVC leaves for the wintry cast. The berries are the only strong colour, and they are fitted rather than clipped on.

Eleven modes, three timers

The eleven modes are named in full on the maker's own panel: comb, two steady settings, two mixtures, slo-glo, breathing, two more slo-glos, flash and in wave. Three timer cycles run six on and eighteen off, eight on and sixteen off, or six on, six off, three on and nine off. Brightness has four levels.

Switchable colour

The colour is not fixed. The four panel comparison shows the same branches in multicolour, warm gold, amber and green, which tells you more about how the tree will sit in a room than the bulb count does. Power runs through a UL certified adaptor.

What are the eleven modes?

Comb, C1 steady on, C2 steady on, C1 mixture, C2 mixture, slo-glo, breathing, C1 slo-glo, C2 slo-glo, flash and in wave. C1 and C2 are the two colour channels, which is how the tree switches between colour looks.

What colours do the lights do?

The maker's own panel shows the same branches in multicolour, warm gold, amber and green, so the colour is switchable rather than fixed. It does not publish a count of colour settings, so we do not give one.

How do the timers work?

Three cycles are offered: six hours on and eighteen off, eight hours on and sixteen off, or a split cycle of six on, six off, three on and nine off. Each repeats daily from when you set it.

Are the berries and cones removable?

They are fitted into the branches rather than clipped on, so treat them as part of the tree. Twenty-four clusters of berries and twenty-four cones.

Can it stand outside?

The manufacturer lists porches among its uses and photographs it beside a front door, but publishes no ingress or weather rating, so we would keep it under cover and keep the adaptor connection dry.

Is the 4 ft measured with the pot?

Yes. The drawing shows 4 ft from the floor to the top of the foliage, with the 10 inch pot included in that.

Can I replace a bulb?

The string is factory-wired into the branches and no spare bulb or fuse specification is published, so we cannot promise individual bulb replacement. LED strings of this type are normally wired so one failed bulb does not darken the rest.
