Seven feet tall, 3.6 feet across, on a 22 inch stand. Allow a clear circle of about four feet. Sizing guides pair a seven foot tree with an eight or nine foot ceiling once around a foot is left above the tip for a topper, so measure the room before ordering.

The tinsel, magnified

Fine silver strands catching light at several angles at once, rather than the flat matte green of ordinary PVC needles. The manufacturer's phrase is that the tinsel reflects a spectrum of light, and the close up bears it out. They state 100% new PVC, fireproof, non-allergic and smell free, with a flame test in their own photograph.

What 400 bulbs do to silver

Lit, the silver turns a warm champagne gold and the whole tree carries the glow rather than showing 400 separate points. That reflective quality is the reason to choose tinsel over green, and it is worth seeing before deciding: this is a very different look from a traditional evergreen.

The top and the base

A reinforced treetop, which matters on a tinsel tree because the leader is thinner than on dense PVC and a topper will bend it otherwise. And an upgraded metal stand with the bolt already fitted and anti-slip pads underneath, so there is no hunting for a bolt at floor level.

Is it silver or green?

Silver. Every photograph shows silver tinsel foliage and the manufacturer's own panel calls them silver tinsel leaves. The store title says nothing about colour, which is why we put it in ours.

How is it different from the 6 ft version?

Scale, and the scaling is proportionate: 807 tips against 553, 400 bulbs against 230, and 3.6 feet of width against 3.1. Both sizes are carried here, so those figures come from the manufacturer's own list rather than an estimate.

Does the tinsel shed?

The manufacturer publishes nothing on shedding, so we make no claim. What they do state is 100% new PVC, fireproof, non-allergic and smell free, and they show a flame test on their own panel. Handle the branches gently when spreading them, as you would with any fine foliage.

Will it hold a topper?

The manufacturer calls out a reinforced treetop for this reason. Keep the topper light and seat it firmly on the leader rather than hanging it off to one side, which is good practice on any tree with fine foliage.
