How much floor space does it actually need?

Two feet across at the widest point, on a stand that measures 20 inches. Allow a little more so nobody catches a branch walking past. That is roughly half the spread of a full profile tree of the same height, which is the whole point of a pencil shape.

Will it fit under an 8 foot ceiling?

Yes, with room left. Tree sizing guides suggest leaving around 12 inches between the tip and the ceiling so a topper fits and the tree does not look squashed. A 7 foot tree under an 8 foot ceiling lands right in that range. Measure from the floor, since the stand adds a little.

Are the baubles in the photos included?

What happens if one of the LEDs stops working?

On an LED set, a bulb that fails but stays intact normally leaves the rest of the string lit, according to lighting trade guidance.
