The maker draws it next to a six foot figure so the height reads properly: 7 feet tall, 4 feet across, on a stand measuring 22 inches. The two magnified samples are the point of this panel. The PE tip is moulded round with a taper, so the outer branches look like a real spruce. The PVC tip is cut flat and packs in behind it, which is what fills the gaps and stops you seeing the pole. There are 1646 of them in total and the manufacturer rates the material fireproof, anti-fading, smell free and non-allergic.

What is the difference between the remote and the controller?

Both do the same job from different places. The inline controller sits on the cord near the plug. The remote is handheld, so modes, brightness and the timer can be set from across the room. The manufacturer calls it dual controlling and both are in the box.

How do the auto timers work?

You pick one of three patterns: 6 hours on then 18 off, 8 on then 16 off, or 6 on, 6 off, 3 on and 9 off. Once set, the tree repeats the same cycle each day, so it lights itself in the evening and goes out on its own.

How much floor space does it need?

Four feet across at the widest branches with a stand 22 inches wide, so a clear circle of about four and a half feet. At 7 feet tall it suits an 8 or 9 foot ceiling, which is what most sizing guides recommend once a topper is allowed for.

Is it hard to put up?

Three sections, and the branches are hinged so they fall into place instead of hooking on one at a time. The long part is fluffing: pull each branch out from the pole and bend the tips up. With 1646 tips that is worth doing in stages, and two pairs of gloves are supplied for it.
