Natural Wall Mounted Cat Tree 71 Inches with Four Platforms and a Hammock

This set weighs 37 pounds empty and each layer is rated for 33 more. A run of screws into plasterboard alone is not carrying that, and the failure mode is the whole panel coming off the wall with a cat on it.

Locate the studs before deciding where the panels go. They are typically 16 inches apart centre to centre, sometimes 24. Get the main panel fixings into timber, use heavy duty plasterboard anchors only for the outlying boards that cannot reach a stud, and set the whole thing out with the marking pen supplied before drilling anything.

Four cushions, four sizes

The manufacturer lists each platform cushion separately: 16.5 by 14.5 inches on the fifth layer, 22 by 15 on the third, 18.5 by 14.5 on the second and 15.5 by 15 on the first. Publishing four different cushion sizes rather than one figure is a sign the platforms really are different rather than repeated.

The hole above the hammock

An 8 inch opening is cut through the board above the sling. A cat can go down into the hammock from the platform above and climb back out the same way, which turns two levels into one connected space. Without it, a hammock on a wall is reachable only from the side and most cats will ignore it.

A tall mat on the trunk

The sisal mat measures 9 by 23.5 inches and runs vertically down the main panel. At nearly two feet tall it is long enough for a cat to reach up and pull through a full stretch, which is what scratching guidance asks for and what most short wall mounted pads do not allow.

Everything soft detaches

Each cushion is sponge filled under a plush cover and lifts straight off its platform. The boards stay on the wall, so the cushions are the only part that can go in a wash. The manufacturer's word for the fabric is skin friendly, which is their description rather than a claim made here.
