Getting a cat out of a cage
What usually goes wrong
A nervous cat in a tall enclosure retreats to the top shelf, and the only way in is a door at the front. You end up reaching diagonally across three floors while the cat moves further away.
How this one answers it
The roof panel on this one hinges open and locks. You reach down from above rather than across, which is a far shorter distance and a far calmer thing for the cat.

Panels of fourteen inches
The cage is 29 inches square and 42 tall, assembled from 14 inch wire panels with a 1.5 inch grid. The skylight is about 9 by 8.5 inches. Because the panels are modular you can build it taller and narrower, or lower and wider.
Joints and zip ties
The panels push into plastic joints and the maker supplies zip ties to lock the assembly. Fitting the ties is not optional on a cage a cat will climb: the joints hold the shape and the ties are what stop a panel working loose over months.
A door in the roof
The top panel hinges open and locks. Reaching in from above matters more than it sounds: you lift a cat out rather than coax it down.
Strap it to the wall
An anti tipping device and non slip foot pads come with it. A wire cage 42 inches tall on a 29 inch base is light for its height, and a cat throwing itself at an upper shelf is the load the strap exists for.
