Why weave instead of fabric

Cattail is a reed, woven here by hand and finished smooth and free of burrs. The weave breathes, which a fabric covered board does not, and a cat lying in it on a warm afternoon is not lying on a sealed surface.

Four places to be, and a ladder rather than a jump to reach the condo. That single detail changes who can use the tower: a heavy cat, an older cat or a kitten climbs steps it would not attempt as a leap.

The pads come out
