Why does the seat height matter?

Because a low patio sofa is hard to get out of. This one measures 21.5 in to the top of the cushion, near the 18 in of an ordinary chair rather than the 12 in of a deep lounge set. Anyone with stiff knees will notice the difference.

Is the glass fixed or loose?

Fixed. The record states four suckers hold the tempered top to the woven frame, so it does not slide when you set a tray down or wipe it.

Do the cushion covers come off?

The seat cushion cover has a zip and comes off for washing. Wash the cover on its own, keep the sponge out of the machine, and dry it flat in the shade.

Can it stay outside?

The PE rattan and steel will take a season outdoors under a cover, and the maker names anti rust screws and raised feet. Cushions last far longer indoors over a Canadian winter, and the glass top is better off out of snow load.
