Unfold the stand, fit the bottom section, add the remaining two, then spread every tip outward. The sections are labelled A, B and C on the panel. Step four is the one that decides how the tree looks, and on 950 tips it is worth taking your time over.

Is it 7 feet or 6.9 feet?

Both numbers are in the manufacturer's own record and we publish both. The dimension drawing shows 7 ft. The written specification gives 6.9 ft measured from the base of the stand to the very tip. The difference is about an inch, so measure your space against 7 ft and you will be safe.

Can it go outside?

The manufacturer describes it for indoor and outdoor use but adds a warning of their own: the legs of the stand need weighing down when the wind is strong. There is no wind rating, no drainage and no lighting fitted, so a sheltered porch is a better bet than an open yard.

Why is there a plastic cap to remove?

The manufacturer's own note says a plastic cap on the tree should be taken off before installation and that it serves no purpose. If it is damaged or missing on arrival, they state it does not affect use.
