50 pints a day on the DOE test is a lot of water, and continuous mode will run without stopping. The pump means you are not carrying any of it up the stairs.

Why 150 pints in the name and 50 pints in the specification?

They are the same machine at different test conditions. 150 pints a day is measured at 95F and 90% relative humidity. 50 pints a day is the 2019 DOE test at 65F and 60%, which the US Department of Energy adopted because it reflects a basement. ENERGY STAR publishes a guide to the change across the industry. Use the DOE number when you compare models, and the 95F number only against other listings quoting the same condition.

How do I put it into continuous mode?

Press and hold the minus button until CO appears on the display. In that mode it ignores the humidity target and runs constantly, which is what you want after a leak or during a very wet spell. Press the plus or minus buttons normally to go back to a set target between 30% and 80%.

Can I run the pump hose into a sink upstairs?

The pump hose supplied is 16.4 ft long. The manufacturer does not publish a maximum lift height for this model, so measure your run and keep the rise modest, and make sure the far end is secured so it cannot fall out of the sink. If there is a floor drain lower than the machine, the gravity hose is simpler and quieter.

Does it need a dedicated circuit?

It is a 115V, 60Hz appliance drawing 9.8A total input current, which is most of a standard 15A circuit on its own. A normal grounded Canadian outlet is correct, but do not share that circuit with a freezer, a heater or a shop tool, and plug it into the wall rather than an extension cord.
