Six and a half more than the Queen mattress, because the headboard is a shelf unit with real depth. Sixty and a half inches wide, which is tight for a Queen, so the length rather than the width is what decides whether this bed fits the wall.

Five cubes across the head

Nineteen and a half inches wide at the two sides and nineteen across the middle, all of them six inches deep. Books stand up in them, glasses and a phone lie flat, and a cup sits on the shelf without wobbling.

Sockets inside the shelf

The power strip is recessed into the headboard so a plug sits flush rather than standing proud. Two mains outlets, a USB and a Type-C rated at 3 amps, fed by a five foot lead that has to reach a wall socket.
