That is the figure to take seriously. The bed itself is a Double, 54 by 75 inches of mattress, but the headboard shelving and the footboard shelving each add depth at their end. From the back of the headboard to the front of the footboard is 95.5 inches, nearly eight feet. The headboard is 56 inches across and 45.5 inches tall, and the shelf openings run from 4 inches up to 15 inches.

The footboard shelving is the unusual part. It faces out of the bed, so it works as a bookcase for the room rather than a ledge for the sleeper. Under the frame there is 8.5 inches of clearance, which is flat bins and a robot vacuum rather than suitcases.

Charging where you sleep

Two USB ports sit in the headboard shelf, with a 5 foot power cord running from the bed to the wall. The light in the shelf is on the same switch, so the last thing you touch before sleeping is on the bed, not across the room.

Three light colours

White, light yellow and dark yellow, changed at a switch. White for reading, the warmer two for the hour before sleep. There is no app and no colour wheel here, which for a lot of people is the point.
