This headboard carries two shelves 6.5 inches deep across its full 55.5 inch width, with two mains outlets and two USB ports built into it. Nothing has to stand beside the bed, because everything sits behind the pillows instead.

Where the inches go

The frame is 82.5 inches long and the headboard 55.5 inches across, standing 39 inches from the floor. Its two shelves are 6.5 inches deep with openings of 6.5 and 7 inches, so a paperback stands up but a hardback lies flat. The deck is 14 inches up with 10.5 inches clear beneath, and each drawer is 33.5 by 15.5 inches with 4.5 inches inside.

The drawers are the storage, not the gap

Two drawers roll out from under the deck on casters that lock, so a loaded drawer stays where you leave it instead of drifting back under. At 33.5 inches deep they want a bit under three feet of clear floor to open fully.
